Today sees the release of STAL’s first EP
P.M. Maulini was originally a member of a Red Season Shade and before he joined M83 for 2 years of intense touring following the release of the Saturdays = Youth album, after which he decided to launch his own project simply called « STAL »
We’re very proud to release his first EP today including 4 original tracks and remixes by Yeti Lane, Anon and Alcala.

While the band has finished their first album (Juicy Lucy, due to hit the shelves on June 4th), Jupiter are proud to present their last offering, « One O Six ». The EP features remixes by the up and coming Juveniles, french touch legend The Supermen Lovers, kraut lover Turzi Electronique Experience and Belgian wonder A.N.D.Y. (ex-Mustang).

I haven’t posted in a long time, not because there’s nothing happening but because there’s just TOO MUCH happening right now
Looks like 2012 is gonna be an incredible year for Grand Blanc and its roster

First of all our man Para One will be back just before the summer with a new album. exactly 6 years after his first offering (not that he remained silent in between). How cool is that ? We’re so excited !

Jupiter’s first album will drop just before the summer too. A rendez-vous not to miss for all the electro-disco heads out there
Here’s a minimix of their new EP which will be out on April 16th with remixes by Juveniles, A.N.D.Y., Turzi et The Supermen Lovers.

Former M83 musician STAL will have his first EP out late April. It’s amazingly good and has remixes from Yeti Lane, Anon and Alcala

Logo have an EP out in May and there’s never been so much excitement about their music.

Then there’ll be more Anoraak, just back from SXSW and finishing the recording of his new album before heading to mexico for a couple of festivals.

After a short and well deserved summer break the second half on the year will be just as busy !
But no need to go into details at this stage.

Personne n’est plus à l’aise dans un zoot suit que Kid Creole: ce classique est un mélange improbable mais maitrisé de funk, rap et un je ne sais quoi de latino.

Enorme reprise d’un enorme morceau reggae de Dillinger par Escort, un groupe New Yorkais. C’est un peu les Kool & The Gang du 21e siècle.

En 1986 la disco US était bien morte mais la funk survivait. Ce morceau réédité par PPU est l’une de ces tueries oubliées.

Ce remix réussit ce que peu de remixes parviennent à faire: transcender l’original tout en offrant une expérience nouvelle. Et une sacrée surprise à mi-chemin.

Avec Escort, Midnight Magic est un de ces orchestres disco modernes qu’on aimerait voir passer plus souvent à Paris!

Bien qu’on ait découvert ce remix il y a pas longtemps, il date de 1995 (et non pas 2007 comme indiqué sous la vidéo). Ceci étant dit, l’approche était visionnaire et il passerait parfaitement entre deux productions actuelles.

Boogie boogie down, nous on est fans. Cela étant dit, ce morceau pourrait bénéficier d’un petit edit et comme on est sympas on vous file direct le break qui tue: 4’34″

Dimitri From Paris revisite Tyson à la manière d’un Patrick Cowley avec Sylvester au chant. C’est assez pour nous faire adorer ce son, la production pêchue c’est bonus.

Comme beaucoup, on vient de finir la biographie de Nile Rodgers. Comme beaucoup, Chic est une de nos plus grandes sources d’inspiration. Ici Todd Terje livre un edit prêt-à-mixer avec lequel le plus mauvais des DJs enflammera n’importe quel dancefloor.

Il fait peut-être froid dehors, mais ce morceau c’est l’été dans nos oreilles. A Tobago ou à Pigalle, peu importe ;)
